It involves applying statistical & machine learning techniques to discover hidden relationships, trends & patterns in the data that can be used to make informed marketing decisions.

For exampe, data mining for a grocery store involves analyzing sales data to uncover patterns such as common product combinations, peak buying times & valuable customer segments.
