Also known as “Gateway Pages”, “Bridge Pages” & “Jump Pages”.

A doorway page is specifically designed just to rank for certain search queries & doesn’t provide users with any useful information.

When a user clicks on a doorway page, they may see a CTA that leads them to another page or they may be automatically redirected to a new page. With cloaking, visitors might not even see the doorway page.

For example, Radha searches for “Mango cake recipe”. She clicks on a search result, but instead of the actual recipe, she just sees a links saying “Click here to view the recipe”. After clicking on it, she is redirected to the actual page with the recipe.

Doorway pages violate most search engines have guidelines against doorway pages. Only certain search engines with paid inclusion programs, where users pay to appear in the search results, may allow them.

Doorway page are not the same landing pages. Landing pages provide users with certain information, advertising certain products or services, encouraging users to take an action. On the other hand, doorway pages don’t provide users with any information & simply redirect them to the page with the actual content.
