The product lifecycle is the stages a product goes through from introduction to eventual retirement.

It typically consists of four main stages: Introduction, Growth, Maturity & Decline.

Throughout the lifecycle, companies need to adapt their marketing, pricing & distribution strategies to maximize sales & profitability. For example, during the introduction stage, the focus may be on building brand awareness, while in the maturity stage, companies may focus on finding new uses for the product
